Foo Fighters, Chris Cornell, Metallica, Mastodon y Queens of the Stone Age son algunos de los artistas rock nominados en la 60ª edición de los Premios Grammy.

Jay-Z domina las candidaturas con ocho nominaciones, incluyendo Grabación del Año, Canción del Año y Álbum del Año por su disco ‘4:44’; seguido por Kendrick Lamar, quien está nominado en siete categorías, y Childish Gambino, Khalid, No ID y SZA, con cinco nominaciones, cada uno. No obstante, los artistas Rock y Alternativo no se quedan atrás.

Mastodon, Queens Of The Stone Age, The War On Drugs, Nothing More y Metallica se encuentran nominados en la categoría Mejor Álbum Rock. Precisamente, estas dos últimas agrupaciones también se disputan el gramófono dorado por la Mejor Canción Rock, junto con Foo Fighters, Avenged Sevenfold y K.Flay.

Por su parte, Mastodon, August Burns Red, Body Count, Code Orange y Meshuggah compiten en Mejor Interpretación Metal; mientras que Leonard Cohen, Chris Cornell, Foo Fighters, Kaleo y Nothing More hace lo suyo en la categoría Mejor Interpretación Rock.

En el ámbito alternativo, bandas como Arcade Fire, Gorillaz y LCD Soundsystem comparten nominación en la categoría Mejor Álbum Alternativo junto con Father John Misty y The National.
